Powers of Attorney

Making a Power of Attorney has now become so complicated and expensive that many people do not bother, but there are sometimes simple, cost effective solutions that we can recommend.

If you do need to get a family member to take over the affairs of a loved one who no longer has the capacity to understand their affairs, we will guide you through this complicated and often stressful procedure.

A "Lasting Power of Attorney" for example, is a legal document by which you appoint someone else to deal with your affairs for you. You can continue to make decisions for yourself for as long as you are able and your attorney could deal with your affairs for you whenever you wished. Your attorney would take over altogether if and when this became necessary.

You can have a Lasting Power of Attorney to cover your property and financial affairs and you can have a separate Lasting Power of Attorney to cover health and welfare decisions.
